I have been crazy busy lately with no time to add new entries, but I will be able to get back to it soon I hope.GAH1965https://www.blogger.com/profile/11555095966650179910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881775616224738612.post-58317998818531835542010-10-07T11:21:44.029-04:002010-10-07T11:21:44.029-04:00Clarissa - You should try to get hold of a book ca...Clarissa - You should try to get hold of a book called "Ginger Rogers: A Bio-Bibliography." It's out of print, so expensive on Amazon ($99.00) but perhaps a good library would have a copy. There is a whole series of these books that were done by Greenwood Press in the 1990s. I have the one for Lauren Bacall and rather than being a traditional bio, it is a comprehensive list of everything she did in her career - movies, stage, television, radio appearances and even recordings as well as magazine articles written about her. Although I haven't seen it, I'm reasonably certain that the Ginger Rogers edition would include a complete discography for her, and then you would know whether or not she recorded any songs from Girl Crazy. Keep in mind too that Broadway cast recordings didn't exist very much until after Oklahoma in 1943, so I think it's a long-shot, but you never know. Hope this helps.GAH1965https://www.blogger.com/profile/11555095966650179910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881775616224738612.post-67241266147796356192010-10-02T09:08:11.749-04:002010-10-02T09:08:11.749-04:00I'm visiting your HOLLYWOOD HEYDAY quite often...I'm visiting your HOLLYWOOD HEYDAY quite often and I'm always fascinated. Actually I should read all your posts these days, because I'm musically in 1932 presently. Yet I really don't know where to start ... it's too much -- but simply divine!

GIRL CRAZY is my problem. It seems the songs weren't such a big hit, like the stage version of NIGHT AND DAY from the 1932 Gay Divorce. A year ago it was the same with the song AS TIME GOES BY: It didn't become a great success before the film Casablanca. It seems same happened to I GOT RHYTHM and EMBRACEABLE YOU: Both melodies are one of the greatest evergreens in jazz today. Yet still I wonder whether Ginger might have sang those GIRL CRAZY songs on records in 1932...Clarissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18391428399392889593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881775616224738612.post-81912135507921057682010-09-25T06:22:10.150-04:002010-09-25T06:22:10.150-04:00...traigo
